Pinelands Brewing Co. Review: Blueberry Ale And Paradise In The Pines Are Summer Beer Hits

New Jersey is known for some good blueberries and now comes a Blueberry ale from Pinelands Brewing Co. At the 3 barrel nano-brewery in Little Egg Harbor, N.J., they make hand-crafted ales of historic character right from the edge of the Pines. Pinelands offers up blue collar craft beer that is brewed with pride, no preservatives and no filters. Just the type of beer you will need for the summer.

Ever inspired by their surroundings, the spirit of the Pinelands influences everything the brewery does, from the names of signature brews to the laid-back atmosphere in our taproom. Pinelands has a strong focus on quality with an aim to creating a fresh approach on the classics.

Pinelands just released their Blueberry Ale on May 19, and is currently pouring Paradise In The Pines. I had the chance to sample both of them and was able to enjoy the tastes that both inspire.

Check out my thoughts on the beers below and share with us what I got right and wrong. Have you tried any of these beers? What do you enjoy? Let us know in the comments section.

Paradise In The Pines

With this beer, you will enjoy an American cream ale brewed with fresh roasted coconut. It had sweet coconut notes with a cream and sugar finish. It pours a cloudy dull golden yellow with a smaller foamy mostly white head. The aroma and flavor is super tropical for a Pinelands beer in a good way. It has a creamy mouth feel. The low ABV makes this easy drinking any tropical season.

Paradise In The Pines is definitely a good beer to share after dinner sitting around a fire enjoying the nice warm summer evening as you take in the quiet of the woods.

Blueberry Ale

Blueberry Ale features fresh Hammonton blueberries and three grain varieties for a balanced, malty Ale with the perfect amount of Blueberry sweetness. It pours a medium gold with a two finger white head. Aroma is blueberry, honey and alcohol. Taste is blueberry and bready malts.

There is a bitterness that lingers slightly too long on the aftertaste. Feel is a little lightly carbonated. A good taste of blueberry that is not overwhelming. If you are a fan of blueberry flavor drinks then you will enjoy this to cool off on a hot day. Consider having this beer while you enjoy some ice cream.

Overall, it was a great experience sharing a beer from Pinelands. Again, what did you think I got right and what do you think I said wrong? Let us know in the comments section.
