Miley Cyrus threw some political shade at First Lady Melania Trump on Instagram. Cyrus was congratulating her little brother Braison who made his catwalk debut at the Milan fashion show for powerhouse Dolce and Gabbana recently. But, sometimes, fashion and politics mix.
Although Miley congratulated her brother and praised the designers for giving her family a platform to be creative, yet in the same post she slammed them saying she, “didn’t agree with their politics.”
Dolce and Gabbana recently caused controversy in the fashion and political worlds because they dressed Trump. Many designers like Tom Ford, Sophie Theallet, and Marc Jacobs have opted to decline to dress the FLOTUS, and anybody related to the Trump family.
Stefano Gabbana said on his retaliation post to Cyrus: “We are Italian and we don’t care about politics and mostly neither about the American one!”
They have dressed the former model on several occasions and seemed proud to do so.
Their dressing of the First Lady has sparked a social media hashtag #boycottdolcegabbana, but it appears the fashion house understands that there is no such thing as bad publicity. Using the same hashtag they created a campaign mocking Trump haters. They designed T-shirts with the slogan, retailing at $245. It does not look like they are hurting in their dressing of Trump.
What do you think of Cyrus’s opinions about Trump? Have you boycotted Dolce and Gabbana as a result of them dressing FLOTUS? Let us know in the comments section.
