New York Woman Shooting Muslim Neighbor In Crotch For ‘Sharia Beating’ His Wife Is Fake News

A New York woman shooting her Muslim neighbor for giving a “Sharia beating” to his wife in the driveway is fake news. There is no truth to reports that a woman intervened during a “Sharia beating” and shot the Muslim man in the crotch.

Under Sharia law, believers’ submission to the will of Allah is the fundamental tenet of Islam. Islamic law is therefore the expression of Allah’s command for Muslim society and, in application, constitutes a system of duties that are incumbent upon a Muslim by virtue of his religious belief. Here are some examples of people sharing the fake news on social media.

Where did the fake news originate? Ladies of Liberty published the fake news article on Jan. 3, 2018, reporting that a woman shot her Muslim neighbor in the crotch in order to stop him from giving his wife a “Sharia beating” in their driveway. You can read the fake news below.

Mary Lynne Fields of Wiscasset, New York was minding her own business folding laundry in her living room when she heard screaming coming from outside. She looked to find her neighbor, Sharan al Malheek, beating his wife with a stick in the driveway. Mary Lynne told our reporter:

“I screamed out the window for him to stop and he just stared at me for like…10 seconds. I could see his rage. The nhe shouted, ‘go back to your laundry, bitch. Sharia demands I have justice for this whorte’s indiscretions.’ I was terrified.

I did the only thing I know how to do. I grabbed my little .22 rifle I use to clean up the groundhogs that eat my garden and I put one right in his penis. Dead on, too. 30 yards.”

Fields was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon but later released when the al Maheek’s wife made a statement. She lives in New York, so the State Attorney is actively looking for a reason to lock her up, but from the circumstances, Kaylen al Maheek was in mortal danger and Mrs. Fields used what she thought was appropriate and non-lethal force from a safe distance.

However, there is no truth to the above story. What is the problem with story to make it false? For one thing, there is no legitimate news coverage for the story. And, the links included in the above fake news do not provide any support for the story’s outrageous claim. Rather, the story originated from a self-described satirical news site before being shared by other real fake news web sites.

Here are some examples of people sharing the fake news on social media.

Finally and most importantly, Ladies of Liberty carries the following disclaimer labeling its content satire:

Before you complain and decide satire is synonymous with “comedy”:

sat·ire

ˈsaˌtī(ə)r

noun

The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
