The winner of the season 24 Mirrorball trophy is Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater. This is Slater’s first win. David Ross and Lindsay Arnold placed second, while Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy came in third. Jennings will be joining this year’s “Dancing with the Stars” tour as a celebrity guest.
The couple’s average score throughout the competition was 36 points. Tonight, they danced a combination of the cha cha and tango for the 24-Hour Fusion Challenge and scored a 39. The duo entered the finale with a perfect 80 points from last night’s redemption-style Viennese waltz and sparkling freestyle, the highlight of any “Dancing with the Stars” season. Judge Julianne Hough said their “Let’s Go”/”Uptown Funk” medley would go down as one of the most iconic freestyles.

The dynamic duo’s very first score was a 31 out of 40 for their dazzling “24K Magic” cha cha.

According to ABC, Jennings “was one of the top NFL running backs in 2015. In that breakout 2015 season, he started every game and set career highs in carries, rushing yards, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. He was drafted in 2009 in the seventh round by the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he spent four seasons, was signed by the Oakland Radars in 2013 for one season, and signed a four-year contract with the New York Giants in 2014. Jennings set a Big South Conference record while at Liberty with 3,633 yards, 42 touchdowns, and averaged 5.7 yards per carry.”
Now in its 24th season, “Dancing with the Stars” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home each week as couples vie for the coveted Mirrorball trophy.
The finalists included Normani Kordei with Val Chmerkovskiy, David Ross with Lindsay Arnold and Rashad Jennings with Emma Slater.
