President Donald Trump lashed out at London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan following the attack on London Bridge and Borough Market that left seven people dead and more than 40 injured. Those on social media did not agree with Trump’s response to Sadiq’s comments following the tragic terrorist attack.
Trump assailed political correctness, gun control supporters and the mayor of London on Sunday, arguing that the world needed to be more serious about fighting terrorism a day after seven people were killed and dozens more wounded in the latest attack in Britain.
Trump, writing on Twitter Sunday, said: “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is “no reason to be alarmed!”
We must stop being politically correct and get down to the business of security for our people. If we don"t get smart it will only get worse

Do you notice we are not having a gun debate right now? That"s because they used knives and a truck!

But when Khan said in a statement that there was no cause for alarm, he was referring specifically to a visible increase in police activity on the streets of London in the wake of the attack.
“Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. There’s no reason to be alarmed,” he said
Here are some reactions on social media to Trump’s criticism and discussion of gun control.
Yes it would definitely have been better for everyone if they could have easily got guns, good point Don https://t.co/rn0oMIfao1

And imagine how much higher the death toll would have been (eg Bataclan) if they had guns. https://t.co/SUxwS8hhkO

I think Donald Trump either wants to give the terrorists guns or ban knives and trucks. https://t.co/f2c5wY8tab

The UK had its gun debate after the Dunblane school shooting. It was short and it ended with gun control. https://t.co/zbThXXZfFo

London"s pride towards our Mayor should only be matched by the United States" shame towards their President https://t.co/mJgtzVAixP

I can"t imagine Theresa May tweeting like this to the mayor of Orlando or San Bernadino. https://t.co/vhBp9CWgsv

Trump"s tweets on London a good example of why "the special relationship" can"t continue as before. https://t.co/2UXQ635eCU
