The Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter calls herself as “art-centered.” Born to a Broadway singer mom and rocker dad, Porter went from impressing America on “Star Search” at the age of five to a starring role in the 1991 John Hughes hit film “Curly Sue.” She then grew her brand and resume.
Always obsessed with music, Alisan kept a picture of legendary 60s blues singer Janis Joplin above her bed. After completing high school, she starred in the Broadway productions of “Footloose” and the revival of “A Chorus Line.”
During a 2016 respite from music, a friend secretly submitted her to The Voice. She was then picked to be on Team Christina and was mentored by the Grammy-winning songstress. Porter has spent her time since her big win working on her independent EP, “I Come in Pieces,” which will arrive in summer 2017.
The three-time Emmy Award-winning “The Voice” returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season.
Grammy Award-winning artist Gwen Stefani returns as a coach this season, joining megastars Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and host Carson Daly.
