Purple Heart Wines: Serving Your Wine Needs Along With Honoring Military This Veterans Day

With Veterans Day just around the corner, what better way to honor our military veterans than enjoying a delicious wine that benefits those veterans with annual donations. Purple Heart Wines generously donates an annual amount to the Purple Heart Foundation, which is an organization dedicated to serving the needs of military men, women and families. Those individuals we honor on Veterans Day.

You can help by satisfying your wine tastes. The 2014 Purple Heart has aromas of plum, cinnamon and cassis with floral notes. In this wine, there are flavors of red and black berries that give way to hints of dried currant and balanced tannins. The wine has a deep ruby-red in appearance, a silky texture and a long, lingering finish. It will drink beautifully upon release and gain complexity and grace over 4-5 years.

This is a unique wine brand that is doing its part to serve the country’s brave service members. Purple Heart Wines is a collaboration between C. Mondavi & Family and the Purple Heart Foundation. Since its inception in 2014, the cause-based brand has donated $40,000 to the Purple Heart Foundation. The donations go to support the lives of our men and women in uniform, past, present and future.

This Veterans Day, the 2014 Purple Heart Red Blend is a perfect way to enjoy some delicious wine and do a small part in helping our country’s military veterans. The wine is a lush and subtly herbaceous Merlot-based cuvée from California at your table. Purple Heart is a 80 percent Merlot, with other Bordeaux varieties added for structure and color.

John Moynier, as the sole winemaker for Purple Heart Wines, is dedicated to winemaking, his military service and his passion for Purple Heart Wines. Moynier served in the US Air Force from 1968 to 1972 where he was a Squadron Training NCO. For over 60 years the Purple Heart Foundation has been supporting and honoring the sacrifice military veterans have made for this great country.

As we honor those on Veterans Day, take note that a veteran’s transition from the battlefield to the home front has never been more difficult. Donations are needed as every dollar makes a difference in the lives of our men and women in uniform. Stand with the Purple Heart Foundation and Honor the Sacrifice of Americas Veterans and enjoy yourself a bottle of 2014 Purple Heart.
